The City of Virginia Beach is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Facilities Customer Liaison to join our team. In this role, you will support the Facilities Management Office with planning, cost estimating, project management, and client communications. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Facilities Management Office with detailed planning, cost estimating, project management, and client communications in the sustainment and long-range maintenance of capital improvement design and construction programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned facilities regarding all facility-related matters, including service requests, scheduled maintenance, contract and vendor relations, and facility operations.
- Plan, schedule, and manage City and contractual resources to address facility-related maintenance, repairs, projects, and capital improvements for City-assigned properties, facilities, and related assets and systems.
- Coordinate the execution of facilities-related work, communicating regularly with building tenants and Facility management regarding the status of related projects and issues.
- Utilize working knowledge of facilities systems (HVAC, security, elevators, plumbing, etc.) to analyze complex maintenance, repair, renovation, replacement, and construction plans.
- Assist in the determination of feasibility, technical solutions, scope of work, prioritization, and resource allocations for maintenance and construction-related projects.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services and resolution of complaints/concerns.
- Utilize AssetWorks, a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), to create work orders, review, update, and maintain service requests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilities management or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) like AssetWorks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Requires any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to six (6) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities related to facility/property management, building maintenance and/or project management and in positions such as Property Manager, Facilities Liaison, Facilities Maintenance Leader or Building/Facilities Planning and Programming Supervisor.
Preferences:
- Experience serving as property manager for large, complex facility and/or multiple facilities
- Experience communicating with facility occupants, tradesman, materials vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Experience performing facility related project management duties (i.e. creating SOWs, feasibility studies, prioritizing work, allocating resources, etc.)
- Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create work orders, review, update, and maintain service requests
- Working knowledge of facility systems such as HVAC, security, plumbing, electrical, elevators, etc.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing across the organization up through executive level
- Ability to listen, collaborate, and effectively work toward reasonable outcomes with all stakeholders
